Camden Hire
Founded in 1984 by Mike Scarce, Camden Hire opened a store in Oxley St, Camden, where in conjunction with manufacturing trailers Mike started to hire out his own equipment and a couple of other items. The hire soon overtook the manufacture side and Mike concentrated solely on the hire of equipment.
In 1986 due to the lack of space and the need for a more modern facility, Camden Hire moved to The Downtown Estate, Cawdor Rd, Camden. The business continually grew with new clients, and equipment, as well as diversifying it’s services.
In 1988 Camden Hire purchased a Party Hire company that was operating in the Ingleburn area. This substantially increased the Party Hire side of the business. Camden Hire was now able to cater for anything from a backyard party or wedding to large corporate events and community shows. Camden Hire was awarded the ‘Best Party and Event Company in Australia’ for 2005.
Over the next 9 years Camden Hire continually expanded with more equipment and staff until it outgrew its location at Camden. In 1997 Camden Hire moved to a brand new purpose built facility in Narellan, in which Camden Hire are currently located.
In 2006, Camden Hire proved they could compete with the big guys, winning the Hire and Rental Industry Association (HRIA) Rental Company of the Year Award - over $3 Million. This is a national award, and seen us up against some huge competition.
The business continues to grow, and 2008 sees some big development for the company. A second Camden Hire branch has recently opened in the Liverpool region, which is an exciting development for Camden Hire. The new branch features all the Equipment Hire customers have come to expect from the Narellan Store. 2008 also sees further expansion to the Narellan Branch, as there is literally no more space in the current workshops and washbay areas.
Through excellent service and quality product range, customers can be assured that they are in good hands at Camden Hire. The team are extremely knowledgeable in the field, and courteous to deal with. Camden Hire celebrate their 24th anniversary in 2008.
